Agreement On Land Rail Marine
The Department of Homeland Security announced today, in collaboration with Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada, the implementation of an agreement to improve mutual security and expedite legitimate travel through prior authorization for travelers and their accompanying baggage on certain transportation. The cooperation is set out in the Agreement on the Safety of Land, Rail, Marine and Air Transport (LRMA) between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of Canada, which replaces the 2001 Prior Agreement between the United States and Canada on Prior Authorization for Air Transport and expands the partnership between the two countries. Canada and the United States then signed the Beyond the Border Action plan in 2011, which was intended to facilitate the flow of travel and freight between the two countries.10 The implementation of the Canada-United States. . . .
